President Aquino has the natural trait not to immediately believe in controversies raised against his friends, after all it is but normal for anybody to have that certain degree of trust on friends. I pray though that he will have the wisdom to discern which friend is genuine and who are those who sought his friendship only for personal gain. Every human experience will tell us that the latter abound. Why would Undersecretary Puno now proclaim that he is willing to take the blame for the hostage fiasco and leave when it would have been laudable if he did it immediately after. It is becoming obvious now that he found it honorable to leave government because of the aforementioned reason than to go, or worst, be asked to leave by reason of the jueteng bribery scandal. The Punos in government, except maybe the former Chief Justice, has already demonstrated their lack of trustworthiness for public office. It should have forewarned P-Noy before making the appointment. Businessmen are mostly always like that. They seek out those they believe they can do business with in the future or at least help open doors for them. It is for us to be constantly wary about these people. While Bishop Cruz refused to name those who are on the take, all suspicions pointed towards Puno. If he is innocent and if he is serious in helping the President push his agenda, being the one given the responsibility over the PNP, he must order a no nonsense investigation on the whole controversy especially when he already knew who these people are, well at least he should because as he said he was approached by many. However he may have forfeited his chance already when he confessed that he was approached but did nothing about it, but at least he may still be able to help his so called friend, the President of the Republic, from the further ebbing of the latter's moral ascendancy.

9/11, The greatest infamy!

To all my American friends, my heart is with you in remembering this infamous day. I will never forget too. Islamic fundamentalists has given the word tolerance, which they so frequently invoke, a whole new meaning, but first of all, they do not really allow anybody to practice any other religion in Saudi Arabia. So, does the word tolerance really exist in their vocabulary?

Credibility of Expert Opinion

Dapat and ABS-CBN kung kukuha ng so called expert opinion ay doon sa walang bias. Si de Vera ay known supporter ni Villar of course he would be ecstatic to have the opportunity to say later that he was vindicated. What destroys his credibility and destroys his Honor, because he talks about it, was the fact that he never mentioned about losing honor during the nine years of depredation under GMA. Did the Russians lost their honor when they botched their own famous hostage incident where they gassed a whole theater in order to flush out the Chechen rebels, and in so doing their own citizens. Mr. de Vera mag ahit ka nga ng bigote at hindi bagay sa iyo at ikaw naman Tonying be a little more resouceful pls. Alam ko naman style nyo para magcreate ng pangalan. Be objective and no personal agenda please.

Insulting letter fr. Donald Tsang

Protocol aside, decency dictates that courtesy and politeness be the norm. I believe P-Noy. Anybody who has been to Hongkong can attest to the rudeness of the islanders. This is what normally happens when those previously living in a pigsty suddenly find themselves in castles. If not for the Brits, Hongkong would not have attained their present status. And in the case of mainland China, the greed of American entrepreneurs actually pushed the scale up for the Chinese. I distinctly remember when scruples were still being observed in the conduct of business, Nike was subjected to relentless attacks for having their products manufactured in China where labor is cheap which included probably even prison labor. Now, not being in China is a sign of stagnation. Forget about ethical considerations, the bottom-line is what is most important.

This deficit spending is causing havoc even in the world's biggest economy, the US. Couples usually argue every time one is spending more than what they earn. And here we are approving a budget of 1.5T like we are earning trillions and the usual explanation is that they do not want social services to suffer. True indeed, very, very true! Unfortunately, they are referring to services for themselves and their friends and relatives only with just a token for the suffering public. Almost every politician has a word about how the Ampatuans have misused government funds but I cannot help but wonder how they themselves can afford to live the life of luxury with a salary that cannot even send their children to private schools. Well, we really only have ourselves to blame. I have just come from a misa de gallo, and I cannot help but wonder why as a people, who would want always to be seen practicing our faith, we are unable to choose the right people to lead us. Instead of honest and genuinely God-fearing people we chose to be led by evil. If we continue along this path, we really are not going to see the upliftment of our people. It is time we stop worshiping these politicians, sever our relations or patronage of them, stop seeking them out for favors. Only then can we truly call ourselves a free people.
